Equipment: past columns from Dear Abby or Dear Ann Landers.

Focus: socialization, values clarification

Description: Invite a client to read one letter written to Dear Abby (chose letters that stimulate conversation and are related to their issues). Have participants then share responses they might have given. After the group discusses their answers, read Dear Abby's response and discuss her answer.

Game Alternative: a game could be made out of this activity by having participants write down their responses. The person or team with the response closest to Dear Abby's response earns a point.
